Anthony Gormley sculpture in the river Thames. It is called ‘Another Time’ and was erected in 2013 by the actor Sir Ian McKellen next to his pub The Grapes in Limehouse.
The Thames is a tidal river. At low tide the forshore is revealed littered with fragments from 2 millennia of trash and treasure tossed into the water.
Wapping is the former dock area. Now its warehouses have been converted or imitated for new housing. Some industrial heritage has been preserved like this bascule bridge.
